The GAA Injury Benefit Fund
Take Note
GAA membership year runs from January 1 – December 31. The GAA Injury Benefit Fund cover year runs from June 1 2022 – May 31 2023. They are two separate items and two separate years.
Any player registered for 2022 in that the player was registered on Foireann as a registered playing member, was only covered under the Fund until December 31 2022. To be covered from January 2023, the player must be a registered playing member on Foireann for 2023. If a player gets injured in February 2023, he must be a registered playing member for 2023 in order to be covered. The March 31 date under rule only relates to eligibility to vote at an AGM and has nothing to do with the Injury Fund. For further details, please click on the Injury Fund Newsletter below.

In our coaching corner we have two distinct areas for our kids grow and learn as they develop, Physical Literacy where they will learn to be competent, confident and most importantly motivated in their movement.
In addition to this we mix in the key skills of Nursery Gaelic Football Drills so that they can get the most out of the game that they have come to play!

Interesting In Becoming A Coach?
If you are interested in becoming a coach with our Bumblebee Academy then there is a three step process you need to complete to get started:
- You will need to get Garda Vetted. The relevant information on this is given here.
- Complete the Child Safe Guarding course. Our Academy organise this to be taken for new coaches once a year so we will keep you updated as to when this will be scheduled. The first two steps are a mandatory requirement and we will need to ensure both are completed before you take part in being a coach with the academy.
- Undertake a Foundation Award training, the training is the introductory award for coaches of Gaelic Games. The course is aimed at beginner coaches and will enable participants to assist a coach in the organisation of activities t o develop hurling or football. The club will organise this training to be done in conjuction with the Mayo GAA coaching officer. Again we will let you know on available dates once known.
